Tom Raga Named Executive Director of DP&L Foundation
DAYTON, Ohio –March 26, 2012 – The DP&L Foundation today announced that Tom Raga has been appointed executive director of the organization. Raga replaces Ginny Strausburg, who retired last month.
“Tom brings strong leadership and strategic expertise,” said Scott Kelly, president of the DP&L Foundation Board. “He is well-equipped to take on this role.” Prior to joining DP&L, Raga was vice president of advancement for Sinclair Community College and was responsible for Sinclair’s foundation.
The DP&L Foundation is an independent grant-making entity. Under the guidance of a standalone board of directors it supports education, health and human services, the arts and economic development in the Miami Valley. The foundation provides approximately $1 million in gifts and grants each year to over 100 organizations.
Raga joined DP&L in December 2010, and is currently director of government relations. In addition to this new appointment with the DP&L Foundation, his corporate role at DP&L has been expanded to include the company’s community relations programs.
Raga is a graduate of Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics and Business Management. He also has extensive experience in government, having served as a member of the Ohio House of Representatives where he was vice chairman of the House Finance and Appropriations Committee.
